JoAlice Sanchez Whitehurst, hubby Rod and their boys Taylor and Dylan hosted an outdoor pool birthday party at their Santa Fe snazzienda for three, count’em three generations of family mems.
First up is little Dante Sanchez, Joey and Amber’s 2-year-old, next is Amber’s mom, Linda C. Sanchez, aaannddd Amber’s 36th. Dante and Linda’s were both on the 12th and Amber’s was on the 13th.
Present to help celebrate were Dante’s cousins Hunter, Avery, Jonah and Piper. Pepper Paratore, Noel and Patrick Paratore, Angela and Bob Eells, Dante’s grandmother Mary Gay Garrigan Paratore, Jill and Lawrence Rhew, Tony Gonzalez, Selena Aguilar, Joyce Whitehurst and Maria Cazares also helped blow out all those candles.
Linda, ya’know, is office manager for Galveston Island Meals On Wheels. The Rev. Pinard and Donna Kearney are the best bosses ever, she says.
Educational Foundation to host nautical bash
S’gonna be a night of dancing, drinks, delectables and nautical-themed fun at the 2014 Galveston ISD Educational Foundation spring event.
Tix for the annual fundraiser, held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday at Moody Gardens Visitors Center Atrium, are $100 per person and available at www.galvestonedfoundation.org or by calling 409-766-5157. Psst, you can also pay at the door.
The bux will go to teachers to access resources and supplies they would not otherwise have, and the community is very much an important part of this component.
To make it fun to give, they’ve gathered a wonderful auction items such as: Sunset dinner cruise for 10 aboard a 36-foot sport fishing boat with dinner catered by Farley Girls and beer donated by Del Papa Distributing Co.; For all you wine lovers, three bottles of 2010 Freedom Estate cabernet sauvignon from Somerston Estate Vineyard and Vasser Vineyard donated by Proprietors Connie and Shawn Guttersen, who has fifth-generation ties to the island via his grandmother Lyda Quinn; seats for two on the UT 50 yard line and dinner at Z Tejas in Austin; and four tickets to the A&M versus Ole Miss football, complete with accommodations in lovely three bedroom home in College Station and transportation to and from the game, donated by Jill & Justin Presnal.
Deets on the AIDS Coalition of Coastal Texas Inc.’s fundraiser dubbed Chillin’ in the Tropics from noon to 3 p.m. June 8 guarantees to be the Baby Apple’s social event to kick off the summer season.
