TEXAS CITY — The Gulf Coast Center and Gulf Coast National Alliance on Mental Illness will offer the Pursuit of Wellness and Recovery for Youth Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 9 in the Technical and Vocational Building at College of the Mainland, 1200 Amburn Road.

All members of the community are encouraged to attend.

In honor of Child Mental Health Awareness Week, the conference will be focused on mental health services for youth.

The conference is designed to provide an opportunity for families, professionals, educators and the community at large to join together in collaboration for youth and families while learning about specialty services like the Gulf Coast Center’s Wellness and Recovery Clinic for Youth located in League City.

Session presenters include Pat Wareing, Crystal Carpenter, Melissa Tucker, Kari Rote, Linda Green, Pamela Moore Ellis, Nga Nguyen, Dana Biddy, Amy Killgore and Denise Crouch.

Registration is $30 per person and $10 for individuals with mental illness; no fee for certified teachers taking Youth Mental Health First Aid.

Scholarships are available for families who care for children or adults with mental health disorders or for individuals with mental illness.
