FRIENDSWOOD — The 22nd annual Spring Flower Show and Through the Garden Gate garden tour will be presented by the Heritage Gardeners of Friendswood on Saturday and Sunday.
From among the recommendations received by Heritage Gardeners, five Friendswood gardens are selected each year to be on the tour.
One of the gardens is a jewel of a yard incorporating no maintenance hardscape designed for backyard entertaining.
On Lancaster, stroll through Gardening in Margaritaville among native plants, vegetables and the homeowners specialty — orchids — accompanied by live background music.
On Friday, there will be a judged flower and horticultural show open to the public free of charge from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marie Workman Garden Center and Briscoe Gardens, 112 W. Spreading Oaks.
Tickets can be purchased then at the pre-tour rate of $7.
The tour on Saturday and Sunday begins at the Marie Workman Garden Center and Briscoe Gardens, which includes garden art accessories/bazaar, the flower show, prize drawings, refreshments made by the Junior Heritage Gardeners and a plant sale featuring plants grown by the Heritage Gardeners, which will be open both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Advance priced $7 tickets can be purchased from garden club members and at the following establishments: Friends-
wood Chamber of Commerce, Cake Lady, Friendswood Frame and Gallery, Gulf Coast Equine and Garden Center, LaCasita Mexican Food Restaurant, Larry’s Florist, Phoenix Cleaners and Two Friends Gifts.
Tickets are $10 the day of event. Children 10 and younger are free. Your ticket is good for both days and includes a map on the back to the location of the homes.
