GALVESTON — Galveston Historical Foundation’s Texas Seaport Museum will offer its Marine Biology Harbor Tour to the public on a limited basis.

This tour takes place on board the Seagull II, a 50-foot catamaran, which docks at the Texas Seaport Museum at Pier 21.

The tour costs $15 per adult and $12 for children 5 to 17 years old.

Dates announced are March 12 and 19, June 7 and 21, July 5 and 29 and Aug. 2 and 16.

The Marine Biology Tour provides participants with a hands-on opportunity to observe dolphins and other species in their natural habitat, trawl for and handle marine organisms, study plankton through microscopic lens and explore Galveston Bay’s rich history.

Led by marine biologist Sid Steffens, the tour lasts one-and-a-half hours.
