GALVESTON — The new owners of Affaire d’Art International Art Gallery will be hosting its inaugural juried competition A Juried Affaire.

As the new owners of the fine art gallery, Alicia Boles and Nikki Thompson said they are are excited to showcase new artists and highlight all of the talented artist in the Gulf Coast area and beyond.

“We welcome entries from all of the talented artists in our community, as well as any interested artists in Texas,” Boles and Thompson said.

“Whether budding artist or seasoned professional, we want to bring the art community together down on the island.”

The top 24 submissions received by July 31 will be chosen by Ken Mazzu, faculty member of The Glassell School of Art, the school of The Museum of Fine Arts, in Houston. These 24 works of art will be on display at Affaire d’Art Aug. 22 through Oct 1.

Boles and Thompson said they plan to host many events and workshops throughout the year.
