From the archives of The Daily News for Jan. 4:

In 1914, voters in League City and Kemah cities decided in favor of a road between the two cities.

1964, misdemeanor theft and burglary topped the list of juvenile offenses during 1963 in Galveston, according to a juvenile department report.

In 1989, a 26-year-old Galveston man remained in jail after allegedly throwing his estranged wife into a Dumpster during a domestic quarrel. The man was charged with assault causing bodily injury and also had an outstanding warrant on a charge of burglary of a habitation.
