  • In 1914, Henry W. Rabe was named city building inspector of Galveston.
  • In 1964, a Port Arthur man who turned up missing from an outing in Galveston was presumed dead after a search failed to locate him.
  • In 1989, Carl Napoli, a Dickinson High School graduate, made his second trip to the Soviet Union as he accompanied two Ball High School musicians. Napoli’s made his first trip to the country as a member of the all-American Youth Honor Musicians.
