October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital is making it easier for women in League City and the Bay Area to take a step toward wellness and prevention.

Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital will sponsor a Women’s Health Symposium from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 27 at Butler’s Courtyard, 122 N. Michigan Ave.

“We’ll address a number of women’s health topics including breast and gynecological cancer care,” says Amber Shamburger, M.D., gynecology and obstetrics, affiliated with Memorial Hermann Southeast. “It’s so important for women to know their bodies so they are able to tell when something is different. This will be a great opportunity for women to have their questions answered by a comprehensive group of experts in women’s health.”

The featured panel of physicians will include, Shamburger, Elizabeth Nugent, M.D., gynecological oncology, Marianne Cusick, M.D., colorectal/pelvic health and Amanda Parker, M.D., weight management.

Seating is limited and open to women 21 and older. You can register for the event by calling 713-222-2273 or online at www.memorialhermann.org/SE-womens-health.
