LEAGUE CITY — A hazardous material spill that slowed traffic in the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 in League City for several hours was cleared shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Houston TranStar cameras.
The accident, which occurred at about 7 a.m., shut down two lanes of the Gulf Freeway while crews worked to clean up the spill.
Police Capt. Anthony Hera said about 50 gallons of diesel fuel had spilled onto the highway.
All southbound lanes had reopened by 10:30 a.m.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the accident.
