PORT BOLIVAR — The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office late Sunday released a sketch of a man who they said was last seen with two women whose bodies were found outside a Bolivar Peninsula store on Friday.

The police sketch describes the man as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 foot 11 inches to 6 feet tall with an average build. He has a slight mustache and a small soul-patch-type of beard, according to the sketch released Sunday night.

Sheriff Henry Trochesset said the man was last seen with Crystal Jackson and Britney Cosby in the womens’ car, a 2006 Kia Sorento with gray trim that has paper plates.

Investigators have not found the vehicle.

Capt. Barry Cook said detectives are following up on other leads and talking to people who last saw the two women.

The sheriff’s office also released copies of the womens’ drivers’ license photos in hopes that someone who may have seen the women recently would contact detectives.

The bodies of Cosby and Jackson were found by a beer salesman outside the Fisherman’s Cove Food Mart in the 700 block of state Highway 87 in Port Bolivar about 7:45 a.m. Friday.

Detectives investigating the double homicide suspect that the women were killed elsewhere before their bodies were driven to Port Bolivar and dropped off.

The store is a little more than a mile away from the Galveston-Bolivar Ferry landing, and there is a “strong possibility” that the women were killed somewhere off the peninsula, Trochesset said.

Investigators could not say if the motive in the killings would be considered a hate crime. Detectives said the two women were in a relationship.

There was one security camera operating near the store, and investigators are examining the tape, Trochesset said.

Autopsies on the two women would be done today, Cook said.
