Our reporting on the the pending flood insurance rate changes continues to generate a lot of interest with readers. We're getting a lot of questions about the new rates and all the factors that figure into calculating new premiums.

In a public service to you, I'm asking everyone who has a question about the new rates to email me at wes.swift@galvnews.com or leave a question in the comments below. I'll compile the questions and put together a Frequently Asked Questions story that will, hopefully, answer all of your questions.

Also, if you've received a renewal notice for your flood insurance, I'd like to hear what your new rates are. The new rates are going into effect Oct. 1, so a lot of people should be getting renewal notices soon, if they haven't already. I'm interested to get away from the realm of the theoretical and see just how high the new rates actually are. Please send any stories to wes.swift@galvnews.com as well.
