Just as Galveston County residents thawed out from Friday's freeze, forecasters with the National Weather Service said a second round of chill and possible frozen precipitation will return.

The weather service on Sunday issued a Winter Storm Watch for Tuesday.

The watch was called as forecasters expect temperatures to drop below 30 degrees and could bring ice and a small amount of snow to the region. As was the case Friday, travel could be hazardous because of ice on the roads.

Friday's Winter Weather Warning prompted delays and cancelations of schools and affected the operations of some government operations in the county and City of Galveston.

For the most part there were no major issues or road closings on Friday. A handful of public schools canceled classes while others started two hours later than normal.

This is a developing story and will updated as needed.
