LEAGUE CITY — The city has closed the recreation center at Hometown Heroes Park and canceled all indoor activities at the facility after complaints about fumes.

According to a statement from the city, employees began complaining about the fumes from a floor refinishing projects at the rec center. League City emergency medical services and the League City Volunteer Fire Department evacuated the building as a precaution.

The building was closed at 2 p.m.
