TEXAS CITY — Marathon’s Galveston Bay refinery had to restart a unit Saturday, leading to extra flaring late afternoon and into the evening.

Texas City Homeland Security Director Derrick Duckett said the refinery lost power to a unit two days ago.

The refinery was in the process of a restarting the unit Saturday afternoon. The restart was expected to be complete by midnight.
