Set sail at the Galveston ISD Educational Foundation’s annual Seaside Spring Soiree from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the 1880 Garten Verein, 2704 Ave. O, in Galveston.

The event will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, libations and more. Guests also will enjoy a queso bar and scrumptious mini sliders grilled on-site among other sundry bites.

One of Galveston’s favorite local bands, The Line Up, will set the tone for dancing and fun.

The event celebrates the culmination of GEF’s “Let Your Light Shine” fundraising campaign benefiting GEF and the Grants to Teachers and Schools program where financial assistance is provided to purchase learning materials and implement innovative programming in Galveston Independent School District classrooms.

A silent auction will present a robust shopping experience with something for every budget from lavish vacations, professional/college sports tickets and assorted merchandise. Additionally, GEF will pull two winning tickets for their annual raffle drawing at the Seaside Spring Soiree. One lucky winner will receive a Tempur-Pedic mattress set valued at up to $1,999 donated by StarFine Furniture & Sleep Center in Galveston. A second winning ticket holder will receive a Carnival cruise for two contributed by Moody National Bank. Tickets for the raffle are $10 each or three for $25 and can be purchased at the event or by contacting the GEF office.

Individual tickets to the event are available for a $100 contribution. Additionally, donors giving $500 or more will receive published recognition for their gift, and GEF commemorates contributions of $2,500 or more by giving a grant in the donor’s honor.

Visit www.GalvestonEdFoundation.org or call 409-766-5157 to donate today and reserve your tickets. Checks payable to Galveston ISD Educational Foundation may also be mailed to P.O. Box 660, Galveston, TX 77553.
