It's beginning to look like — and feel like — Christmas in Galveston County!
So, here are a few holiday events that you should make time for this weekend:
First up is Yaga's Entertainment's annual Galveston Holiday in the Park event, which will feature a day filled with festive holiday tunes from local and area school and church choirs beginning at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Saengerfest Park, 23rd and Strand streets, in Galveston.
The event will feature the Galveston Community Band, 10:45 a.m., Galveston Heritage Chorale, noon, Clear Falls Troubadours, 1:15 p.m., Galveston Homeschool Performing Arts Co-op, 2:30 p.m., Fanfare! Lutheran Music Academy, 3:45 p.m., and Galveston College at 5 p.m.
The event also will have a booth where children can take a photo with Santa from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On Saturday, over in Friendswood, the city will have its annual Santa in the Park event featuring family photos with Santa, carnival rides, and a holiday market.
Festivities will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Stevenson Park, 1100 S. Friendswood Drive, in Friendswood.
There also will be a snow hill with 40,000 pounds of snow, a parade from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., tree lighting and fireworks at 7:30 p.m., live music, food and beverages.

If you've never been to The Bryan Museum, then here's your chance!
The museum will be offering free admission to its Holiday Delights at The Bryan Museum event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1315 21st St. in Galveston.
The public is invited to enjoy a fun and festive day at the museum, as well as visit with Santa Claus, enjoy hot chocolate and holiday confections, live holiday music and more!

The Grand 1894 Opera House will have its Nutcracker Afternoon Tea event at 12:30 p.m. Saturday; and it'll also present "The Nutcracker," performed by the City Ballet of Houston at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 2020 Postoffice St. in Galveston.
Tickets for the tea are $30 for adults and $25 per child. Proceeds benefit The Grand's educational programs.
Tickets for "The Nutcracker" presentation are $28 per adult and $24 per child.

The Galveston Diaper Bank will have its largest fundraiser of the year — the 10th annual Santa's Night Out — at 7 p.m. Saturday at Murphy's Irish Pub, 213 22nd St., in Galveston.
The annual diaper drive invites the public to join in their finest Santa suits, reindeer outfits or elf attire and take to the streets of Galveston for cold ales, warm toddies, and fine friendship while doing good for local families. Participants are encouraged to take opened or unopened diapers and wipes for the diaper bank.
A group photo will be taken at 9 p.m. in Saengerfest Park and a list of participating stops is available at www.facebook.com/santastnightout.

The Galveston College Community Chorale will present its annual holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Moody Methodist Church, 2803 53rd St., in Galveston.
"A Global Holiday Concert" is this year's theme where the choir will do a piece written by J.S. Bach entitled "For Us A Child is Born," as well as the French carol "He Is Born," "Huron Carol" from Canada, and "Here We Come A-Caroling," just to name a few.
Joanna Whitsett, organist and harpist, of Moody Methodist will be the guest artist as she accompanies the chorale on the German carol, "Silent Night." Whitsett also will play a medley of carols entitled "Christmas Joy."
The concert is free and open to the public.
If you're busy this weekend, then pencil in Sea Star Base Galveston's Jingle on the Base event, which will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 7509 Broadway in Galveston.
The event, which is a family event, is free and open to the public.ere is no fee to attend.
Attendees will get to participate in fun, family oriented Christmas festivities including a visit with Santa Claus, photo ops, light refreshments, games, music, screenings of Shrek the Halls, hot chocolate, crafts and more.
The base also is encouraging attendees to take a toy or two for Toys for Tots.

Last, but not least, the El Mina Shrine Center will present its annual Santa's Wonderful World of Magic event at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd., in Galveston.
The magic show will feature the famous Mataguirov Family's quick change act from the Moscow Circus with Yarov Mataguirov on Rolla Bolla, as well as magical illusions and comedy with contortionist Sayana Suarez.
Admission is free and open to the public.
