The Dickinson Historical Society is a nonprofit organization. Its mission is to preserve the history of North Galveston County and the Dickinson and League City Railroad Depots, 218 FM 518 West in Dickinson.
To help fund these activities, it gives the historical society great pleasure to host the 12th annual Night of Wine and Roses from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 25 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Dickinson, 4132 E. 27th St.
Come savor the wine and feel the nostalgia. Sample tasty hors d’oeuvres prepared by the KC Cooks and food specialties of the Herb Café & Market, A.J.’s Meat Market and Smoke House Restaurant, Dickinson Bar-B-Que Steak House, Sesame House Chinese & Vietnamese Restaurant, Gio’s Italian, Just Cakes and Edible Arrangements.
Look over and bid on fabulous auction items and join in the excitement during the live auction. Dance to the toe-tapping music of Sparky Koerner’s Jazz Express and of course, enjoy a glass or two of vino. Local author and historian Ernie Deats will be on hand to autograph copies of his latest book, “The Last Karankawa.”
As part of the evening’s festivities, the historical society is sponsoring a raffle that includes a $400 Visa gift card, a Kindle Fire HD and a $100 Home Depot gift card. Great prizes — if not for your enjoyment, then maybe for that special graduate. The raffle drawing will be at the Wine and Roses event, but you do not need to be present to win. Still, we hope to see you there.
Tickets for the Wine and Roses event are $15 for members, $18 for nonmembers and $20 at the door. This includes two drink tickets and one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are selling for $5 each and are available now. To purchase tickets for the Wine and Roses or the raffle, or for more information concerning sponsorships or to donate auction items, please contact the Dickinson Historical Railroad Center at 281-534-4367 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Special thanks to Judge Kerry Neves and family for our first Red Rose sponsorship.
