For those of you who celebrate Kwanzaa, or always wanted to, make sure you clear your schedule to attend the Nia Cultural Center’s annual Kwanzaa celebration at 6 p.m. today at the Old Central Cultural Center, 2627 Ave. M, in Galveston.

The annual celebration not only will feature various performances by African and local dance groups, spoken word artists and the like, but it also includes the Kwanzaa Market, which will open at 4 p.m.

The program also will recognize community members who have made contributions this year to society as well.
