With Thanksgiving out of the way, all things Christmas will be on display in “grand” fashion as The Grand 1894 Opera House presents the holiday spectacular “Christmas Wonderland.”

The show, which will feature glittering costumes, a dazzling cast and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole can be seen at 8 p.m. today and at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday at 2020 Postoffice St., in Galveston.

Singer Ricky Rojas is just one of the 24 cast members who were hand selected from New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and London to help transform the stage into pure winter wonderland magic.

Rojas, who has toured all over the world, has starred in theater productions such as “Sister Act,” “Putting on the Ritz,” “New Jersey Nights” and “The Buddy Holly Story” to name a few.

“It’s great to be back in the United States working on such a great show,” Rojas said. “The talent in the cast is world class as is the production value, sets and costumes!”

With over a thousand glittering costumes, and spectacular sets and scenery, the show parades its way through the wonder of Christmas and the excitement of the holiday season.

“It’s a little different from the Christmas shows we get back in the United Kingdom,” Rojas said. “There’s a load more glitter and sparkle!”

“Christmas Wonderland” is produced by Spirit Productions and David King, who is a multi-award-winning and internationally acclaimed theater producer who became known to American audiences through the mega hit musical “Spirit of the Dance,” which is one of the biggest dance show’s in the world.

Spirit Productions owns The Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach and The King’s Castle Theatre in Branson, Mo., where their shows play year round. Spirit shows have toured in more than 30 countries and they are the first producer from the Western world to have three consecutive tours in China, playing to over a million people.

“It has been my great pleasure to create ‘Christmas Wonderland’, a big spectacular Christmas show,” King said. “With famous Christmas songs, beautiful costumes and brilliant scenery, it is a fun, entertaining Christmas production that is perfect for all the family.”

The show is sure to be a family crowd pleaser featuring holiday favorites such as “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Jingle Bells.”

Single tickets are available at www.thegrand.com or by calling 800-821-1894.

“Come and join us, and start the Christmas season in style, with ‘Christmas Wonderland,’” King said.
