Although most of us are preparing to celebrate Christmas this weekend, it’s not too late — or early — to start making plans to celebrate the end of the year with the hope and promise of a new one on the horizon.

So, if you like to bring in the New Year with a party featuring dancing, food, drinks and more, then here are a few New Year’s Eve parties around the county for you and I to choose from:

First up is the New Year’s Eve Gala at 8 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Front Door Club, 6106 FM 1765, in Texas City.

Tickets are only $10 per person and will include a buffet of hors d’oeuvres on the house, party favors and free Champagne at midnight.

“We will have a count down of the most popular R&B, line dance, zydeco and swing out music for the year 2016,” said Tammy Gary, owner of the club. “We love to bring in the New Year with all of our customers because we feel as though they are family and most of them are third and fourth generation customers. It never fails when a customer turns 21, I will hear a story about grandparents and parents partying at The Front Door Club. Now they have retired their dancing shoes and the children and grandchildren have taken up where they left off. We will celebrate 50 years of being open in February. We will celebrate with a Black and White Dressy Affair in remembrance of the original owner, my late father, Alfred ‘Fats’ Gary. So, this party is just a precursor of what’s to come.”

For information, call Gary, 713-417-4278.
