The Texas City Independent School District’s Foundation for the Future a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit tax-exempt philanthropic organization has experienced significant growth in its first five years of operation.
The TCISD Foundation has awarded 81 teaching grants totaling more than $197000 and impacted more than 25000 classroom students during this time.
In addition several worthwhile programs have been established with the help of local community and business leaders such as the Charles T. Doyle Leadership Program Dr. Dennis O. Dixon Excellence in Teaching Award Helping Students Graduate Helping Hands Program and the Adopt A School Program.
The goals for the 2005-06 school year include raising $97000 during the Annual Fund Raising Campaign. These funds will continue to support creative approaches to education through private grants.
This year the foundation will work closely with the Alumni Association to bring awareness to its programs.
The Century Club Membership Program offers alumni the opportunity to stay in touch with their alma mater and support the educational programs in the district.
Plans are developing to incorporate an external grant writer program to assist with funding and application of grants from national corporations and entities.
The TCISD Foundation for the Future’s vision is to encourage all students to work to their highest potential.
The focus will remain to benefit our students and staff by supporting activities not funded by tax dollars.
The success realized thus far has occurred due to the teamwork of the community the foundation’s volunteer board of directors and the TCISD teachers and staff.
Working together with the Texas City community is building the foundation for our children’s future
