The Santa Fe Indians couldn’t overcome missed scoring opportunities as their season ended in an extra-innings thriller Saturday at Mumford against the College Station Cougars, who swept the teams’ best-of-three Region III-5A semifinal series.
While we thought that Friday’s near gale force gusty winds were enough, later that night storms passed over Galveston with winds gusting to over 50 knots. The good news is that conditions started settling early Saturday, and by late morning, sunny skies and light winds took over.
Students at K.E. Little Elementary School in Bacliff participated in hands-on science activities Friday, May 20, 2016, during the the 15th annual Space Day. The annual space-themed day is an opportunity for students in kindergarten through fourth grade to meet the men and women who make a difference in the exploration of space. The Space Science Girls, four NASA scientists with superhero personae, kicked off the fun with a rowdy assembly.
