An article on page A1 of Thursday’s edition contained statements that should have been more specific.

The article should have stated that City Attorney Nghiem Doan declined direct comment about Mayor Pat Hallisey’s plan to have him fired.

It should have stated Doan got city council members to sign a letter accusing Hallisey of using a gender slur against a former councilwoman and of sexually harassing city employees, and that Doan has said City Manager Mark Rohr directed him to seek the letter and set an agenda item seeking council authorization to file a formal ethics complaint.

The article should have stated that Hallisey’s plan to have Doan and Rohr fired came to light during the newspaper’s reporting about an email exchange.
