LEAGUE CITY -- Thanks to a quick response a Wednesday night house fire was contained to garage, League City's fire chief said.

Twenty members of the League City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the house fire at about 9:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Metarie Court.

When fire crews arrived the attached garage was engulfed and flames appeared headed for the house, Fire Chief Brad Goudie said.

"Crews made an aggressive attack on the fire and contained it to the garage," Goudie said.

The fire was snuffed out in less than 30 minutes. The Webster Fire Department assisted League City, the chief said.

Residents of the house made it out safely, Goudie said.
