KEMAH — A married couple was arrested in a shoplifting case that police said turned into a robbery.

The husband and wife were accused of trying to steal a 50-inch television from Walmart, 255 FM 518. Their getaway SUV struck a cart that hit a loss-prevention employee, sending her into a concrete pole. The employee suffered minor injuries, Kemah police said.

After a brief chase, police arrested the couple at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of South Kemah Drive. The husband was charged with robbery, and his wife was charged with misdemeanor theft.
