FRIENDSW0OD — Two teenagers were taken to the hospital with stab wounds after they got into a fight over what police said was a drug deal gone bad. The stabbings happened Sunday afternoon behind an elementary school.
At about 12:45 p.m., a caller told police there was a fight involving five people behind Wedgewood Elementary School, 4000 Friendswood Link Road. When one of those in the fight pulled a gun, witnesses called police.
As police were en route, those involved in the fight scattered, and two men jumped into a Honda. Police stopped the car and found that both men had been stabbed. A 17-year-old Dickinson man had three stab wounds to his back, while an 18-year-old in the car had a cut to his face.
The 17-year-old, whose name wasn’t released, was taken by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. The 18-year-old was taken by ground ambulance to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.
The conditions of the two men were not released.
Police said they are looking for a heavyset man with a beard who was wearing a gray UFC shirt and red basketball shorts. The other suspect in the stabbing is a thin man who was wearing a black T-shirt and bluejeans.
No charges have been filed and no arrests made, police said.
