CRYSTAL BEACH — Investigators are trying to find the owner of a white pickup that was found abandoned in the surf off a Bolivar Peninsula beach Sunday morning.

At about 7:30 a.m., deputies were called to the beach at the end of Mr. G Street in Crystal Beach. When they arrived, they found the white Ford F-150 extended cab truck in the water.

Water levels were about midway up the truck. Deputies, however, could not find the truck’s owner. The truck had not been reported stolen, Major Ray Tuttoilmondo said.

While deputies were able to confirm the truck belongs to someone from Houston, they had not been able to track down the owner.

The truck was pulled from the water and is being stored as deputies try to find the owner. Tuttoilmondo did not indicate if there were any signs of foul play on or in the truck.

The white truck has a toolbox and spare tire in the bed.

Anyone with information about the missing owner should call the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office at 409-766-2315.

Now that's what I call a detail job.

GDS, you may want to fix the contact phone number. I don't think 400 is correct area code.

Might want to check to see if the guy who owned that Bugatti Veyron back in '09 ever bought a pickup.
