The Sullivan Family and Texas International Terminals were honored at the Galveston Seafarers Center’s seventh annual Gala & Auction on May 17 at the Tremont House in Galveston. The name of the party was “Seafarers Speakeasy,” and Frank Billingsley, KPRC-TVs chief meteorologist, was the master of ceremonies for the evening. Guests were treated to casino table games, music, dinner, cocktails, silent and live auctions. The Seafarers Center provides “safe harbor” to seafarers passing through the Port of Galveston. Services include proving sailors a place to stay, rest and contact loved ones. Money raised through contributions, sponsors and charitable events go to fund these services.
