The Ronald McDonald House of Galveston celebrated 25 years on the island with its Silver Anniversary Gala on May 3 at Moody Gardens. The event raised money for the organization, which provides housing for immediate family members of children receiving medical assistance in the Galveston area. Business and community leaders, doctors and volunteers gathered at the black tie event to show their support of the program that mitigates some of the worries of caring for a seriously ill child, in many cases, miles from the family’s home.
