Beautiful autumn weather has settled in around the Galveston area; however, the temperatures continue to be warm for this time of year.
When the opening whistle blew, it was all business for head coach Anna Marie Milligan, as she guided the Lady Indians to a 25-9, 25-18, 25-17 win against Fort Bend Marshall in the final match of her 40-year coaching career — all of which was spent at Santa Fe.

Morris is a 2 year old orange haired male tabby with wide golden eyes. He was found by one of our volunteers as a sweet outside cat who was being picked on by another cat in his colony. He was very shy when he came to us and spent most of his first 2 months hiding. Morris quickly became a shelter star and staff favorite. He greets new people when they enter the cat visitation room and absolutely loves other cats. He is especially fond of a Calico named Lolita. Adopt them together for the happiest feline duo ever!
Benji is a small 7 year old terrier mix weighing about 12 pounds with a brindle coat and huge brown eyes. He is timid at first and will give you an inspecting side eye, but once he gets to know you he is a loving dog who likes to be held. He would do great in a quieter home that can give him the extra love and affection he deserves. Stop by to visit Benji today.
A reminder: the City of Galveston requires current registration (2014) of all pets. Registration and city tags are available at the shelter. You must bring proof of a current rabies vaccination and also something showing whether the pets is spayed or neutered. The cost is only $5 if they are fixed, and $50 if not.
