The Galveston Economic Development Partnership will hold its sixth Annual Economic Development Summit on Tuesday.

The 2017 summit was postponed from October because of Hurricane Harvey. This year’s summit continues with a series of panel discussions featuring local, regional and national experts focused on industry sectors promising growth and development for the Galveston and Galveston County region.

Five panel discussions will take place throughout the day beginning at 7:30 a.m. and running until 2 p.m. at the Moody Gardens Convention Center, 7 Hope Blvd., Galveston. Topics will include maritime, emerging technology, sports tourism, disaster resiliency and more.

As in past years, the partnership’s “Developer Profile” magazine will be unveiled at the summit. This magazine highlights economic development activities that are affecting Galveston and the Galveston County area. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with panelists and special guests throughout the event.

If you are interested in attending this year’s Economic Development Summit contact the partnership at 409-770-0216.

Given a tremendous response by sponsors, reserved tables have sold out, partnership officials said.
