More than 100 Galveston area employers will participate in the 12th annual Oceans of Opportunities Job Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort, 5600 Seawall Blvd., in Galveston.

Oceans of Opportunities is a collaboration of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce Work Force Development Task Force, Work Force Solutions, Congressman Randy Weber, the city of Galveston, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston College, Gulf Coast Center, Texas Veterans Commission, and SER (Service Employment Redevelopment).

More than 100 employers from the Galveston area will be at the job fair distributing information on their companies and will be accepting resumes for employment. The objective of the job fair is to match job seekers with jobs and to provide educational opportunities for skill development. There will also be various organizations at the event for military veterans. Workshops will be offered on resume tips, interviewing tips and social media/networking tips.

Attendees are advised to dress appropriately and be prepared for interviews. More than 200 attendees at last year’s job fair walked away with job offers and a number of applicants were contacted following the event. Anyone seeking employment, from skilled to unskilled labor, are encouraged to attend.

Registration is not required and parking is complimentary in the convention center parking garage. For more information, call 409-944-9055.
