Realtor Edie Harrington has been named president of island-based real estate firm The House Company.

Owner Carolyn Clyburn last week announced Harrington, formerly vice president, would lead the company.

“Edie is a consummate real estate professional who, as our vice president, has put an enormous amount of time and effort into managing The House Company from both a business and people perspective,” Clyburn said. “This appointment is recognition of her efforts and abilities.”

The change means Clyburn will spend less time in the office, but will continue to be the designated broker for The House Company and will continue to represent the business in the community, she said.

Client, staff and suppliers should not see a huge change, Harrington said.

“The House Company will continue to be focused on providing fantastic service to our clients thanks to the professionalism of our agents and our knowledge of the Galveston real estate market,” said Harrington, who is a Galveston native.
