Eddie Cibrian (“Third Watch”) becomes a new series regular as Season 2 begins with “Forward Motion & Frat Life,” and as the police department’s new captain, he doesn’t waste any time making waves. His arrival coincides with a murder case that draws the concern and involvement of Miami’s mayor (guest star Yancey Arias). Morris Chestnut continues in the show’s title role, with Jaina Lee Ortiz, Lorraine Toussaint, Gabrielle Dennis and Anna Konkle also remaining in the cast.
7 p.m. on ABC
The doctors find themselves treating one of their own as the drama’s 13th season begins with “Undo.” As Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tries to determine how the situation came to be, the other medics resolve to do whatever they must do in the moment. Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) covert behavior impacts her dealings with Alex and Maggie (Justin Chambers, Kelly McCreary). Debbie Allen directed the story and also reprises her guest role as Catherine. Sarah Drew also stars.

The Good Place
After Monday’s “preview” airing, the new comedy series from “Parks and Recreation” alumnus Michael Schur has its official premiere in its regular time period with “Tahani Al-Jamil.” Eleanor’s (Kristen Bell) adjustment to her heavenly new surroundings continues as Chidi (William Jackson Harper) starts her education in ethics by suggesting kindness to neighbors. Chidi himself is the object of Michael and Janet’s (Ted Danson, D’Arcy Carden) efforts.
