GALVESTON — In early 2014, the city of Galveston lost one of its finest employees, Keith Stovall Sr., superintendent of streets division. Today at 10 a.m., the city of Galveston will dedicate one of Stovall’s last projects, the parking lot of McGuire Dent Recreation Center, 2222 28th St., to his name.

Stovall came to the city in August 1976 and earned a high level of respect and appreciation that spanned many years.

“He was known for his work ethic, fairness and honestly,” remarked Interim City Manager Brian Maxwell.

“He always lent a helping hand to those in need, both in his private life and here at the city. His passing shocked those who knew him and worked with him and he is truly missed.”
