SANTA FE

St. John’s Lutheran Church will have its Lenten Soup and Service program at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively, Tuesday; Maundy Thursday service at 5:30 p.m. April 17; and its Good Friday service at 5:30 p.m. April 18 at 13136 state Highway 6.

LA MARQUE

Trinity Lutheran Church will have its Lenten season midweek services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 2024 12th Ave.

The church also will celebrate Palm Sunday with its Confirmation service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday; Maundy Thursday service will be at 6 p.m. April 17; and on Easter Sunday, a continental breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. and the Easter Communion service will be at 10:30 a.m. April 20.

HITCHCOCK

The Hitchcock Chamber of Commerce and the Hitchcock Public Library will have their annual Easter egg hunt for ages 2-10 at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Good Ole Days Grounds, 8300 state Highway 6.

Parents must register their children before the event by calling 409-986-9224 or 409-986-7814.

Donations of candy and toys are needed by today.

GALVESTON

Shriners of El Katif Temple No. 85 and El Katif Court No. 115 will have their annual community Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Amity Lodge No. 4, 1524 31st St.

Children ages 2-10 are invited. Baskets will be provided.

Breakfast also will be available for $8 beginning at 9 a.m.

The Santa Fe Parks and Recreation Board will have its annual Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Joe A. Tambrella Park, 13306 Sixth St. (next to Mae S. Bruce Library).

Children ages 1-10 are invited.

The hunt will be divided into five age groups and will be done simultaneously. Prizes will be awarded.

 

DICKINSON

The Dickinson Memorial Post No. 6378 Ladies Auxiliary will have their annual Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 5204 state Highway 3.

First Christian Church will celebrate Easter beginning with its Palm Sunday service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday; Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. April 17; Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. April 18; and Easter Sunday service in the church garden at 7 a.m. and main service at 10:45 a.m. April 20 at 2400 21st St. N.

The Lions Club of Friendswood and H-E-B will have their 19th annual Easter in the Park event at 1 p.m. Sunday at Stevenson Park, 1100 S. Friendswood Drive.

All children ages 1-10 are invited. There will be prizes for the Golden Egg in each age group.

HITCHCOCK

Greater New Light Baptist Church will have an Easter revival at 6 p.m. April 15-16 at 6538 Martin Luther King Blvd.

The Rev. A.L. Bell will be the speaker and the Rev. Dexter Henderson will be the lecturer.

The church also will have its Son Rise services beginning with a fellowship breakfast at 7 a.m., Sunday school, 8 a.m., and Easter service at 9 a.m. April 20.

Congregation Shaar Hashalom will have its Second-night Passover Seder service at 6 p.m. April 15 at 16020 El Camino Real.

A kosher dinner also will be served for $22 for adults and $11 for ages 6-12 for members, or $25 for adults and $13 for ages 6-12 for nonmembers. Attendees are asked to RSVP by April 4.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church will celebrate Easter with the following events at 13217 FM 1764:

• Seder meal, presented by Chosen People’s Ministry, at 7 p.m. April 16;

• Easter worship services will be at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. April 20; and

• Easter cantata at 10:30 a.m. April 27.

The Hitchcock Chamber of Commerce will have an Easter bake sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. until all sold out April 18 in the lobby of Texas First Bank, 8128 state Highway 6.

Donations of baked goods also will be accepted, but must be at the bank by 9 a.m. April 18.

Greater Barbour’s Chapel Baptist Church will have its Good Friday worship service at 7 p.m. April 18 at 7420 FM 1765.

The Rev. Dennis Carl Jones, from the Gethsemane Baptist Church of Houston, will be the speaker.

The church also will have its Resurrection Sunday services April 20 beginning with sunrise worship at 6:30 a.m., the H.A. Ratcliff Memorial Breakfast, 8:30 a.m., joint Sunday school, 9:30 a.m., and Easter service at 10:30 a.m.

All are welcome to celebrate the Easter season.

 

BACLIFF

The Bayside Lions Club will have its annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. April 19 at Bayside Park, 5619 W. Bayshore Drive.

The 1867 Settlement Committee will have an Easter fish dinner fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 19 at 106 S. Bell Drive.

GALVESTON

Moody Gardens will have its annual Easter in the Gardens event beginning at 11 a.m. April 20 at 1 Hope Blvd.

Easter egg hunts will be as follows:

• For ages infant to 3 at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.;

• For ages 4-7 at noon and 2:30 p.m.; and

• For ages 8-12 at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

There also will be games for prizes, face painting, and a petting zoo. The Easter Bunny also will be in attendance.
