The group is for mothers grieving the loss of a child.
The Transition Plus peer support group will meet from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays in the Family Life Center at Bay Harbour United Methodist Church, 3459 Deke Slayton Highway.
The free meetings are open to all veterans, active duty, and immediate family members dealing with transition issues that may include PTSD, and emotional, personal, family and work issues.

The Us Too Prostate Cancer Education and Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Friday at the University of Texas Medical Branch Specialty Care Center, 2240 Gulf Freeway.
There will be a free health seminar from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays through April 26 at Mainland Seventh-day Adventist Church, 310 S. Willow St.

The University of Texas Medical Branch and the Ruth Kempner Endowment for Breast Cancer Screening are partnering to provide free screening mammograms for uninsured women ages 40-64 in Galveston County.
Participants do not have to be members of the churches where the screenings will take place. Participants can RSVP by calling the numbers below.
The screenings will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates and locations:
