With the continuous lack of rain, the wetlands dry up right in front of our eyes.

The birds congregate in the bits still inundated in order to feed. Driving along West End roads, the waders all seem stuck within one or two pools. It can be an advantage for the photographer, if they are close to the road, but more often, the receding shoreline will also move the birds away from the lens.
