Diamonds at a wedding? Of course. Diamondbacks? Well that’s another matter.

This particular snake was an uninvited guest at a beach wedding, its rattler going off every time someone walked down the steps from the dune walkover. The wedding party decided to stick to its own chosen music and asked for the snake to be removed.

West End residents and pest control workers say there has been an increase in the number of diamondback sightings this year.

The rattlesnakes have been spotted frequently on West End dune walkovers. The increase may have to do with an increase of rodents such as rats.
