Yet another gourmet burger joint is rumored to be biting into an already crowded market.

Speculation is sizzling that popular Aggieland concept Grub Burger Bar is planning to open in the site formerly occupied by Berryhill Baja Grill, 2660 Marina Bay Drive.

Grub Burger Bar’s original restaurant is in College Station. The growing chain recently opened an eatery in Houston and is planning another in Dallas.

Grub specializes in burgers made with a blend of beef it grinds in-house and buns made from scratch and baked daily. But it also gets a lot of buzz for such items as Shiner Bock-battered onion rings and spiked Bourbon and caramel milkshake.

Grub representatives did not immediately respond to inquiries.

The North County and Webster market appears to be a magnet for purveyors of premium burgers.

Carl’s Jr., Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Fuddruckers and Steak ’n Shake all in recent years have entered the market.

I’ve never eaten at a Grub Burger Bar? Have you? Has anyone tried the spiked shakes?
