What happened to Mooyah in Clear Lake?

I was wondering whether any readers out there knew what happened to Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes at 300 W. Bay Area Blvd.

Representatives of the company didn’t return phone calls today, so I’m at a loss.

I don’t know a lot about Mooyah, but BurgerBusiness included the chain in its list of “11 Burger Chains to Watch in 2011.”

The Plano-based company, which launched in 2007, has about 50 restaurants.

Recently, the company had a shakeup at the top, (check out the story here) but I don’t know whether that had anything to do with a franchise closure. Maybe it's temporary or a move to a different location.

Perhaps it was intense competition as more premium burger joints open in League City and the Clear Lake area.

Any fans or foes of Mooyah out there?

If you’ve tried Mooyah, please tell us what you thought of it.

I am clueless on the Mooyah mystery, but I'd really like to know more about the seafood/crawfish place opening up on Broadway where the Simp's was until recently...
