Crowds were able to celebrate Mardi Gras with a long break from the promised rain in Galveston Saturday afternoon. Although clouds persisted, rain stayed away as the green jacketed Z Krewe hosted their 24th annual processional down Galveston's downtown entertainment district. Revelers of all ages basked in the joy of Mardi Gras by catching beads from balconies, watching floats of various krewes and listening to live music in Saengerfest Park.
