Live music during Mardi Gras isn’t limited to groups with amps and guitars. Part of the fun was all the great high school marching bands at the parades.

On Saturday, music started up early with high school marching bands at the Krewe of Aquarius on the Seawall.

If you watch just about any parade go by, you likely caught a glimpse and a few notes from an area marching band.

Friday night there were some musicians providing live music for folks in the Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade Parade giving the parade an authentic second line feel.

Check out my Sound Check Blog on Friday for a guide to live music during the second weekend of Mardi Gras.
