Headliners for Mardi Gras announced

The City of Galveston released the entertainment schedule for Mardi Gras 2013, including the two headlining music acts.

Nineties alt-rock band Tonic will perform on the 23rd Street Stage on Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tonic had the most played single of 1997, with song “If You Could Only See.”

On Friday, Feb. 8, country singer Lee Brice will perform from 9 to 10 p.m. Brice had a No. 1 single with “A Woman Like You” in April 2012, and may be best known for his 2010 debut single “Love Like Crazy.”

Also scheduled to perform at Honeybrowne, Dry River Religion, the Mambo Jazz Kings, country artist Caitie Taylor, and party band Sprung! The 21st Street Stage will feature a rotating lineup of DJs playing dance and electronic music.

Mardi Gras begins on Feb. 1 and ends on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 12
