The Daily News has acquired copies of the two contracts that are at the center of a negotiation between the City of Galveston and the General Land Office.

The original contract was sent to the city on Wednesday, Jan. 23. At its meeting on Jan. 24, the council requested amendments to the contract and sent it back to the land office on Friday, Jan. 25.

The land office said earlier this week it was still reviewing the proposed changes and the city expects to receive a detailed response, hopefully in time for the Feb 14 council meeting.

Proposed City Contract

The city’s proposed changes are underlined, except in one instance. The entirety of Paragraph 6 is new language.
