The town of Galveston does not need a mine resistant truck. I believe the chief told the city council it was for protection for his men going to a swat situation. Now it is needed in case the bad boys have automatic weapons. When have the police come under attack going to a swat situation? I don't think the police should be out gunned. They have auto weapons and should have a good sniper rifle. But they don't need to be Rambo.

While this truck may be free. I'm sure the up keep is going to be high dollar.

Talk about wasting local tax dollars

    "...camouflaged body armor..."
Anyway, imho, focusing on the equipment used by Police instead of the thugs and thieves and arsonists and people SHOOTING at the Police seems a bit...well, misplaced...

Fortunately, there's no chance at all that our Law Enforcement personnel might ever be exposed to terrorist, homegrown or imported, IED's....
    Couldn't happen.
    Because it never has yet.
And, things like that just could not happen in America....[whistling][whistling]
