More than 100 Sea Aggies celebrated their graduation from TAMUG on Saturday, when the school held its fall semester commencement ceremony at the Moody Gardens Convention Center.

Among the students who attended the ceremony were 118 undergraduates, 20 cadets from the Texas Maritime Academy (including two who were commissioned as ensigns in the U.S. Navy Reserve), four master’s students and one Ph.D. student.

One of the master’s students, Jared Honeycutt, was the first graduate of TAMUG’s Master of Maritime Administration and Logistics program. The program “prepares professionals for leadership positions in maritime transport and logistics in the public and private sectors,” according to a university press release.

Dr. S. Malcolm Gillis, a former president of Rice University, delivered the commencement address.

TAMUG has more than 1,400 fulltime undergraduate and graduate students, enrolled in 12 degree programs. The Sea Aggies will hold their larger spring commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11, in the Galveston Island Convention Center.
