The Clear Creek Independent School District board of trustees named Trent Martin as the 2017 Citizen of the Year on Nov. 4 at the Clear Creek Education Foundation’s annual gala. The Citizen of the Year is a standout among many valued supporters in the community for their dedication to the district and public education through their volunteer and advocacy efforts.

Martin has served in a multitude of roles ranging from Gilmore PTA President and booster club leadership positions at Clear Springs High School, to key involvement on various committees at the district level. His input and due diligence have been invaluable on the Citizens Financial Advisory Committee for seven years, three School Boundary Advisory committees and two Facility Advisory committees.

Currently the Vice President of Business Integra Technology Solutions, Martin previously served as NASA’s Associate Director of Engineering for Advanced Development. He is the father of a Clear Springs High School graduate, a Clear Springs junior and Creekside Intermediate student.

Also recognized at the gala were: Dr. Ron McLeod (George B. Carlisle Distinguished Service Award); Christin Hart, Connie Davis Fuller, and Michael Janney, (Distinguished Alumni); Scott Hartman (Valor Award); Kevin Duke and Ruth Rendon Duke, Magali Gutierrez, Lauren Jehli, Dinah Parker Matthews, and Gary Mossman (CCISD Superstars); and Mickey Wooten (Dennis Johnson Memorial Small Business Award).
