The partners and employees of DSW Homes give the "thumbs up" sign in front of their new corporate headquarters, which is the old Custom House, in Galveston on June 19 in honor of the sesquicentennial 150th anniversary of Juneteenth.

In honor of the 150th anniversary of Juneteenth, local builders DSW Homes moved into its newly purchased national corporate offices at the old Custom House in Galveston.

“DSW Homes has several locations across the country — and growing — but Galveston will always be our rock, the foundation we call home,” said Steve Mataro, who is a partner with DSW Homes. “We love our new historical building. It is a true national treasure full of history and prestige and we wanted to move in on June 19th in honor of this year’s historic 150th sesquicentennial celebration. What better way to never forget this special day in the history of our company than to match it with such a meaningful day in the history of this great county.”
