Ashley Nicole Hansen Weds Corey Dean Lee

Miss Ashley Nicole Hansen and Mr. Corey Dean Lee were united in marriage on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at seven-thirty o’clock in the evening at The Artillery Club in Galveston, Texas.

The double ring ceremony was officiated by the bride’s cousin, Darrell Blake Apffel of League City.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family, hosted a reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Artillery Club with musical performance by Thomas Dickerson.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Hansen of Galveston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Herman Hansen of Galveston and Mr. and Mrs. Benny Holland of Galveston. The groom is the son of Mr. Chuck Lee of Galveston, Texas and Ms. Lisa Rodriguez of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Toriso Rodriguez of Texas City, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Judson Lee of Freemont, Ohio.

Presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father and brother, BJ Hansen. The bride wore an elegant and romantic white ball gown which featured a tulle handkerchief layered skirt with an embroidered lace and beaded bodice with spaghetti straps.

The whimsical gown was ornamented with secret sparkle.

To complete her ensemble, Ashley wore a single tier cathedral length veil edged in a secret sparkle detail to match the wedding gown. The bride carried a cascading, hand-tied bouquet of various colors of long stemmed roses along with many gorgeous varieties of Christmas flowers made for her by her Aunt, Pam Holland Apffel. Ashley’s bouquet was embellished by a beautiful pair of blue topaz earrings which belonged to her paternal grandmother, Ethel Barrow Hansen. The bouquet was also accented by a gold and diamond cross belonging to the bride’s maternal grandmother, Peggy Crawford Holland. During the ceremony Ashley wore a special “family bracelet” that belonged to her late, great-grandmother, Mary Crawford Dayton.

The bridesmaids wore a floor-length charmeuse gown with a one-shoulder neckline which accented cascading ruffles down the opposite side in a gold tone. They carried nosegay style bouquets which resembled the bride’s, also made by Ashley’s aunt, Pam Holland Apffel, with help from Allie Apffel and Callie Apffel, cousins of the bride. Serving as Maid of Honor was Christine Lara of College Station, Texas former college roommate and friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Allie Apffel, of League City, Texas cousin of the bride; Carly Simpson of Longview; Layne Heidtmann of Houston; Kayle Galan of Austin; Kristyn Alexander of Katy, Texas and Benjamin Turner of New Orleans, LA; all longtime friends of the bride.

Best men were Robert LaPort of Magnolia, Texas and Hugo Martinez of LaMarque, Texas. The groomsmen were Roderick Johnson of Lancaster, Texas; Luke DiMarco, Juan Garza, Chris Wallace and Sara Gilkinson; all of Galveston, Texas and all longtime friends of the groom.

Readings during the ceremony were given by BJ Hansen, brother of the bride, and Rebecca Rodriguez, grandmother of the groom.

Ashley attended Ball High School in Galveston and graduated in 2010. She received a Bachelor of Science in 2014 from Texas A&M University. She is teaching third grade at Gretta Oppe Elementary School in Galveston. Corey graduated from O’Connell High School in Galveston in 2010. He received a Bachelor of Science and Business in 2015 from Dallas Christian College in Dallas, Texas. He is currently employed by The County of Galveston. The couple will reside in Galveston, Texas with their dog, Sir.
